Copies of this expert opinion were attached to the final Polish governmental (Miller's Commission) report – however in the report itself, the phrase “likely sites of explosions” was replaced with the words “likely fire zones”.
SmallGis provided the Polish prosecution in August 2010 satellite photographs with marked/circled locations described as “likely location of explosions”. However, The Miller's report contains instead the phrase “likely fire zones”. SmallGis Company prepared high definition satellite photographs (0.5px) obtained from three satellites.
The Military District Prosecution Office in Warsaw obtained the satellite photographs of the airport in Smolensk with two locations marked as “likely sites of explosions”. This was also the title of the expert opinion report. The photographs from Smolensk showed explosion rays at two locations - where the explosions could have taken place. “It looks like there were some anomalies during the flight” stated Lieutenant Andrzej Pawlikowski, former head of Government Protection Bureau.
“However, in the expert opinion that was provided to the general public in the form of a publication as an annex to the so-called Polish Miller's report was signed “likely zones of fire” - said Antoni Macierewicz from the Parliamentary Group set to investigate and to establish the causes of the 2010 Polish Air Force Tu-154 crash
"This is the methodology, research and information reliability of the governmental commissions" he said. He added, this will be a reference point for reporting a crime. "It is possible that the expert opinion and the Polish report were falsified and that the state authorities together with the public opinion were mislead." said Macierewicz.
